It's Friday - know what that means? Friday night pizza night! Today, we are having pizza at our grandmother's, so no making pizza, but next week we will be back at it on the Big Green Egg. Last week, we experimented with a little ham and pineapple, and it did not disappoint. The results of my quick internet search informed me that Hawaiian pizza does not actually have the name because it originates in Hawaii. It was actually first made by a Greek immigrant in Ontario, Canada. It is delicious no matter where it comes from though, so we will be doing it again for sure.
Ingredients ~
pizza dough
olive oil
pizza sauce
mozzarella cheese, shredded
ham, cubed
pineapple, cubed
Instructions ~
Heat grill to about 600 degrees F.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface, until fairly thin and in a circle.
Drizzle olive oil and spread around dough, then spread pizza sauce outward from the middle in a circular motion, leaving space for the crust. Evenly spread cheese on pizza and top with ham and pineapple.
Cook for 6-8 minutes or until cooked through. Enjoy!
+ to cook in an oven, preheat to 450 degrees F, and cook for 10-12 minutes
